Venture Capital Programs

Equity Investment Programs to Help Propel Small Businesses

Virginia has expanded access to capital for small businesses and entrepreneurs through more than $175 million in federally-approved funding designed to support business growth, innovation, and economic opportunity. These programs help strengthen Virginia’s innovation economy by increasing access to investment resources for startups and emerging companies, including those in historically underserved communities.

Through the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) and Virginia Venture Partners (VVP), funding is directed toward promising seed-stage startups, emerging industries critical to Virginia’s future, and investment initiatives that help entrepreneurs scale and succeed. These venture capital programs are designed to support innovation-driven businesses and create long-term economic impact in Virginia.
